Ryan Garcia fired back at Bill Haney on social media after he questioned whether he pulled out of his exhibition match against Japanese kickboxer Rukiya Anpo on December 24th because he couldn’t make the 153lb weight for the bout.
Kingry noted that Bill has been talking about him “non-stop,” and wants him to let him know when he wants his son, Devin Haney, “to be released again.” On April 20, Ryan defeated former WBC welterweight champion Haney in front of a crowd of 19,000 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Garcia agreeing to give Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) a rematch would likely be music to Bill’s ears, as it appears he can’t wait for that fight to take place in 2025 after Ryan’s one-year suspension expires.
Bill wants Ryan to submit to a drug test before the rematch takes place. There are also negotiations, which can be a nightmare ordeal. If Bill decided to make Devin the A-side in the negotiations, the rematch probably won’t happen.
Get off my fucking account, you keep talking about me non-stop. When you want your son to be released again, let me know. https://t.co/JRZwApQPFa

According to Bill, Devin will take a year off. He is not saying when he will fight next, but it is likely that he is hoping that the fight with Ryan could happen in the first half of 2025.
If Bill really wants a rematch, it would help if they drop the lawsuit and reconcile with Ryan. He wants to help Devin win again, but that is not possible in the current situation.
Garcia is in demand and can earn full money in rematches against Gervonta Davis, Teofimo Lopez, Jaron Ennis and Shakur Stevenson.
Superstar Garcia withdrew from the exhibition bout due to a wrist injury he sustained in training. The match will be postponed later.
