Agave Games announced today that it has raised $18 million as part of its Series A round, following a successful seed round earlier this year. Felix Capital and Balderton Capital led the round, with E2VC participating. According to Agave, it plans to use the funds to expand its popular comic title, Find the Cat, as well as explore new games and expand its team at its Istanbul location.
Find the Cat is a casual game where players have to find a cat, as the name implies. According to Agave, the game had more than 10 million downloads in its first period on the market. Alper Oner, CEO of Agave Games, said in his statement, “This investment helps us to double down on Cat Success and explore new ideas that can redefine traditional games. We are excited to take our studio to the next level by expanding our team and games that set new standards in established species”.
As we said, the studio is planning to create new amazing titles to follow Find the Cat, and plans to launch at least two of them next year. According to Agave, it plans to focus on game mechanics and social media, as well as using two methods of monetization: in-app advertising and in-app purchases. Baran Terzioglu, CPO and co-founder of Agave, said the new game will “push the boundaries of what players expect from traditional games, and introduce new ideas that we hope will be heard around the world.”
Rob Moffat, partner at Balderton Capital said in a statement, “Find the Cat is a long-term success of two years. Agave has put together an exceptional team and has worked hard to identify new brands and create a polished game. Get the Cat is just the beginning, I’m excited to see the pipeline most of them are living in 2025.”
