Music is streaming from the platform SoundCloud announced Tuesday that it is introducing a new, lower-cost artist payment plan called Artist, while also rebranding its Next Pro plan to Artist Pro.
The new tier will cost $39 per year and will limit features such as music development, distribution, monetization, and AI capabilities. Artists who subscribe to this plan get three hours of uploading as many songs as they want – this is the same limit as in the free plan.
With the new system, artists get the opportunity to develop new music get more than 100 listeners. SoundCloud can also be used as a way to distribute and monetize other platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and TikTok. Artists get 100% royalties from their SoundCloud plays and also earn money from other platforms. Both of these are activated two times a month for the basic concept.
Users can also edit three songs per month without losing stats, plays, likes, or comments. Artists also get credit for one song per month using SoundCloud tools.
SoundCloud said it is making the new system available globally after testing it in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
If artists want higher limits, such as unlimited music uploads, expansions, monetization, and editing, they can choose the $99 per year Artist Pro plan. The Pro plan comes with three AI mastering sessions per month as well human resources.
Earlier this year, SoundCloud launched its own store let the artists create themselves.
