A Republican lawmaker says he will relinquish many of the traditional day-to-day duties of the House GOP Conference, suggesting he will spend more of his time helping the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Rep. Victoria Spartz, R-Indiana, said she plans to decline any House committee assignments she is given and will refuse to attend weekly House GOP conference meetings.
“I will remain a registered Republican, but I will not sit on committees or caucus until I see Republican leadership in Congress rule,” Rep. Victoria Spartz, R-Indiana, wrote to X Monday evening.

“I don’t need to be involved in circuses. I’d rather spend more time helping (DOGE) … to save our Republic, as ordered by the American people.”
Spartz did not explain how he would do that focus your efforts to DOGE.
He has rebuffed House GOP leadership several times during the 118th Congress, primarily on government spending and the national debt. He is currently a member of the House Judiciary Committee.
