The Indian national cricket team and the Australian national cricket team cross spears in the third match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The second matchday between the teams is played at the Gabba in Brisbane.
While the main action keeps everyone excited, the support staff of the Indian national cricket team work tirelessly with the young players. Assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan Ten Doeschate take care of fine-tuning the players on the bench.
During the lunch break on the second day of the ongoing match, Abhishek Nayar and Ryan Ten Doeschate were seen working with Sarfaraz Khan, Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna and Devdutt Padikkal along with other support staff of the team, TOI reported.
Abhishek Nayar was especially seen focusing on Sarfaraz Khan. The two were seen joking nicely, and a special guest appeared in the middle of the internet session. Australian cricket team coach Daniel Vettori was in the Indian nets towards the end of practice, when the game was about to resume
Daniel Vettori, who was wearing a large baseball glove, decided to turn his hand to Sarfaraz Khan in the bottom corner of the net, according to the same report. The Mumbai batsman, however, comfortably bowled the former New Zealand cricketer’s offhand deliveries before departing.
While Daniel Vettori left the session, Sarfaraz Khan continued to hit the nets. He was seen facing the side’s music and looked a little uncomfortable against the rising deliveries from the good length spot, bowled by assistant coach Abhishek Nayar.
Sarfaraz Khan, however, soon adjusted and then handled the deliveries comfortably by going on the back foot later in the session. Both Devdutt Padikkal and the Mumbai batsman shared the pitched balls very comfortably.
After that, the young Indian players finished their session and finished quickly to reach the dressing room in time for the first game of the second session, which was dominated by Australian national cricket team batsmen Steve Smith and Travis Head.
Australia’s national cricket team took control of the game as they batted magnificently on day two. Travis Head (152) and Steve Smith (101) hit brilliant centuries and their innings total crossed 350 for their team. For India, Jasprit Bumrah was the star as he picked five wickets.
The fast bowler didn’t get the desired support from the others, due to which Australia progressed in the game. The hosts would like to make big runs and put pressure on India.
