X gets a quick version of Grok and a ‘Grok button’

XAI, Elon Musk’s AI company, could be surrounded in the growing case with OpenAI. But that doesn’t stop them from posting new stuff – Friday night, at least.

This evening, xAI revealed that it has started rolling out its latest version Grok 2 chatbot for all users on X, the social network formerly known as Twitter. (The X, which Musk also owns, often serves as a testing ground for Grok.) The additional Grok is “three times faster,” xAI what to say blogs, and offers “good accuracy, tracking, and multilingualism.”

Free users can ask ten Grok questions every two hours. Subscribers to X’s Premium and Premium+ plans have usage limits.

XAI also announced tonight the addition of a “Grok button” to the X, which the company says is designed to help users identify “important things, understand real-time situations, and dive deeper into ongoing conversations.”

And the founders said they are changing a few of them Enterprise API.

XAI’s API has two new versions of Grok for better performance and more languages, says xAI. Due to the success, the prices have been reduced from $5 per million input tokens (~750,000 words) or $15 per million output tokens to $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.

In the coming weeks, the xAI version, Aurorawill come back to the API, xAI says. Aurora, an unfiltered AI icon, was released on X this month in the Grok chatbot event.
