And now something completely different. Naughty Dog takes a post-apocalyptic fungal adventure to an interstellar sci-fi bounty hunt with its new game, Intergalactic: A prophet of deception. The studio revealed its new title and trailer at The Game Awards on Thursday.
Intergalactic: A prophet of deception It takes place thousands of years in the future and stars the bounty hunter Jordan A. Mun, played by Sabrina’s Fun Facts actress Tati Gabrielle. Jordan finds himself in danger on the world of Sempiria, which has been cut off from the universe for over 600 years. He is on his way to escape Sempiria, but it looks like some evil robots have joined him.
The reveal trailer is pretty cool, even if it’s just gameplay footage. It features twinkling stars and Jordan cozying up to his seniors in a Porsche spaceship, all set to lo-fi music and ’80s hits. When the camera gets to planet level, there is a large, multi-armored robot with a glowing red sword. Jordan pulls out his weapon and a fight ensues.
This is the beginning of the new IP of Naughty Dog – it is the first game of the studio that is not Unchanged or The Last of Us since 2005. The director of the game and Naughty Dog head of the studio Neil Druckmann shared a little information about the story of the game. and PlayStation Blog:
“What we can tell you is that this game is in keeping with Naughty Dog’s tradition of creating an intimate, character-driven adventure. Our narrative goals are driven by our passion for gaming. This will be the deepest game in Naughty Dog’s history, taking what we’ve learned from our past franchises and pushing it beyond everything we’ve done before.”
Song of songs of Intergalactic: A prophet of deception it’s hosted by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (at least when it’s not actually the Pet Shop Boys).
Intergalactic: A prophet of deception it is planned for PlayStation 5 and has no release window yet.
