Ruben Amorim could lift morale in the Czech Republic with a win tonight as his Manchester United side face Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League.
Amorim got off to a flying start at Old Trafford, but back-to-back defeats to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest halted their progress.
A 2-0 loss at the Emirates, especially so early in his tenure, can be easily excused, but the way United played when they lost 3-2 to Forest on Saturday would have alarmed Amorim.
United and Plzen enter tonight’s game with nine points from five games and are on the brink of an automatic qualification spot.

Cadu enters instead of Milan Havel, and Daniel Vasulin replaces Erik Jirka. Matej Vydra, who played for Watford, West Brom, Derby and Burnley among others, starts for the hosts.

Amorim makes five changes to the team that lost to Forest.
Noussair Mazraoui, Tyrell Malacia, Casemiro, Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford came on for Leny Yor, Alejandro Garnach, Manuel Ugarte, Robbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund.
The moves will also mean a change of role for Amado Diallo, who has been operating on the right wing but is likely to move on to support Zirkzee.
Rashford is making his 75th appearance in a major European competition for Manchester United, the 10th player to reach that total for the club.
