Daughter-in-law of RFK Jr. met with Ratcliffe about CIA work: WaPo

The daughter-in-law of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. he had a private meeting with John Ratcliffe, President-elect Trump’s choice to head the CIA, in an apparent bid to take a senior position within the agency. The Washington Post reported.

The Post reported that Amaryllis Fox Kennedy met with Ratcliffe to discuss being deputy director of the agency she has harshly and openly criticized.

The Post cited “people briefed on the discussions” who indicated Trump himself’s interest in having the younger Kennedy in a national security role in his administration after running his father-in-law’s independent presidential campaign.

After the paper’s report, Fox Kennedy, who previously worked as a CIA officer, addressed X detailing what she perceives as serious institutional flaws within the agency. In a long publicationdescribed a “dramatic decline in the quality and quantity of our human intelligence” over the past decade and a half in dealing with foreign governments such as Russia, China and Iran.

“This is the direct result of political appointees weaponizing the Agency against the very American citizens it was created to defend,” he wrote.

Fox Kennedy, who is married to Kennedy’s son, lamented “members of the intelligence community” who, in her opinion, have pushed a specific political agenda about Trump’s dealings with Russia specifically, the called “Russia hoax” by the GOP, and other partisan narratives.

He also seemed to poke fun at the emergence of pushback among some in the intelligence community about having a Kennedy family member close to the agency decades after fringe conspiracy theories about the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy by the CIA failed to reach the American public.

“A Kennedy in the CIA, they worry. No more arming our intelligence services, they complain. She opposes censorship, they cry. She doesn’t believe in arming terrorists, they moan. She believes the coups and wars must be avoided, they cry. She believes in the president, they despair. A DJT loyalist, they cry. It must be stopped at all costs!” she wrote

According to the Post, the Republican president-elect, who has already selected unconventional figures to lead government jobs, expressed “impression” of Fox Kennedy after meeting with him and others at his Palm Beach club, Florida, Sea-to-Lake.

RFK Jr. he was briefly pushed by some Trump allies for a top position at the CIA before eventually being chosen to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. Since then, Kennedy has privately set out to present an unsubstantiated alternative story about the death of his uncle, the former president.

axes reported this week that “RFK Jr. has been telling people that Fox Kennedy … would help get to the bottom of the JFK assassination,” citing “two Republican sources.”

The idea has already raised concerns among Kennedy’s own family, which has come out vehemently against his new alignment with Trump. In the latest sign of backlash, his cousin Jack Schlossberg has called him a “Russian spy,” linking to Axios’ report on X.

“.@RobertKennedyJr You’re obviously a Russian spy… You all think I’m kidding. Hahahaha,” he wrote.
