There has been a bit of a resurgence a stop-motion game in recent years. For one reason, Spirit of the Samurai It’s set to arrive on Thursday and looks compelling (you can even play as a cat in some episodes!). At the time of Devs demo daywe’ve seen some amazing stop-motion action games on the horizon. This is completely related to hearing.
Feltopia is the first project from creative director Andrea Love and her team at Wooly Games. Love has been using needle felting to create commercial animations, short films and social mediabut I had never seen the medium used in a game before. “We realized there was a gap in the market for this type of decor, and we decided to fill it,” Love said.
Love explains FeltopiaA loose spin on an “em up” style, like “cute”. You play as a sheep herder named Skyrider who uses magical powers to cleanse the world of harmful smog and save their Rainbow Team. You don’t kill enemies here. Instead, you’re restoring infected creatures and bosses to their original forms.
“Fur is very good for the environment, so I knew that I wanted to make a game with a great look and feel,” Love said. “The advanced side-polishing technology combined with our hand-stitching techniques, the stops give us Feltopia novel and fun feeling, which is exactly what I like to hit with my art work. Our goal is to take the brutal form and twist it into a form of change and healing rather than destruction and death. “
Feltopia she looks cute as heck. It’s clear that Love and his team have packed a lot of personality into their first game, and this one might be worth a closer look.
Wooly Games, which started working Feltopia last year, they want to release the game in the middle of 2026. It will happen Hit Steam first and will arrive on other platforms later.
