Ready Player Me he said his own PlayerZero The Web3 avatar site is increasingly changing the way users view digital information in the game and around the world.
Since its launch in October, PlayerZero has garnered over 81,000 Collection ZERO wearable pack mints, with more than 15 games supporting its avatars.
Ready Player MeWeb2 avatar technology is used by more than 4,000 developers (including VRChat, Spatial, and HiberWorld) and millions of users who can change their avatars to show themselves in compatible applications.
With the goal of creating seamless, interactive digital experiences, PlayerZero is redefining the potential of avatars and interactive wearables, said Timmu Tõke, CEO of Ready Player Me, in an interview with GamesBeat.
“We’ve already created the foundation for collaboration. And PlayerZero is a player-focused platform where you can go and create an avatar and jump into the game right away. That will be the centerpiece of the player experience,” Tõke said. “We launched it in October with a drop of NFTs on Base.”
It took time to get the hang of using Web3, Tõke said. He wants PlayerZero to lead the charge in changing the digital concept. The platform allows users to create highly customizable avatars, expressing their personality through hairstyles, clothing, accessories, and makeup. These avatars are designed to be used by users of various games and virtual reality, making them popular around the world. That’s where Web3 functionality comes in.
For the big business, Tõke said there have been many new requirements in the last six months to be more coordinated and more diligent. The company makes money by selling clothes to gamers who like to dress up like they buy clothes in real life. In the future, Tõke hopes to increase the number of users by encouraging and guiding them.
“PlayerZero aims to give users control over their digital content,” said Tõke. “A third party’s identity and digital presence should not be limited to one platform or a walled garden. We’re bridging the gap between remote ecosystems, allowing users to take their avatars – and everything that makes them unique – across multiple games and countries, ensuring they’re theirs, no matter where they go.”
Tõke believes that digital identities are very important, especially among Gen Z, and PlayerZero is tackling the need for customizable avatars around the world.
He said that 40% of Gen Z gamers change their avatars every month, according to Roblox/Parsons. And he realized it 84% of Gen Z gamers they consider digital fashion to be very important to their self-expression.
Users spend more time in games and global activities, emphasizing the importance of cross-platform communication and interactive information. With PlayerZero, users aren’t just creating avatars—they’re creating digital identities that integrate into the games and worlds they live in, Tõke said.
A key feature of PlayerZero is its integration of digital media. Users can change and upgrade their avatars by collecting rare items such as clothes, weapons, etc. These integrations not only enhance customization but also provide users with a deeper ownership experience and progress.
The release of ZERO shows the power of the brand, with 81,000 NFTs produced and used immediately throughout the game, Tõke said. This collection laid the foundation for future drops, including accessibility and functionality.
Building on the success of Collection ZERO, PlayerZero unveils Genesis: Limited Edition, its first NFT offering.
Designed for high value collectors, the Genesis has limited availability and six rare parts. It has story-driven capabilities. The collection tells the story of a heavenly hero and a chaotic villain, representing the duality of light and chaos. Elements from Genesis are designed for instant use, enhancing avatars and showcasing rare, unique digital fashion.
“Genesis aims to improve the experience of collectors while fulfilling our mission of empowering users who collaborate,” said Tõke.
PlayerZero’s foundation lies in the expertise of Ready Player Me, the leader in avatar technology that is trusted by more than 4,000 developers and supports more than two million monthly users worldwide.
“We have game and experience systems and they all use the Ready Player Me system,” he said.
Backed by notable investors like A16z, Gmoney, and Punk6529, Ready Player Me has been at the forefront of avatar technology, building bridges between virtual worlds to create a connected metaverse. With PlayerZero, the focus shifts to empowering consumers directly, putting them in control of their digital content.
Regarding platform choices, Tõke said the team wanted to make it as easy as possible for players to switch back and forth between apps and avatars. This is why in this first generation the company has chosen web-based avatars. On the NFT side, it chose Base, a blockchain developed by Coinbase, because it has a strong leverage due to the popularity of Coinbase wallets.
PlayerZero is constantly evolving to meet the needs of a growing community. Upcoming updates include digital collections. Future drops will have collaborations with celebrities and artists, giving users more ways to customize and customize their avatars.
Ready Player Me also supports immersive experiences. New tools and features will enable collectors to display and promote their digital assets.
And it will have great platform integration. PlayerZero aims to support more and more games and worlds, solidifying its position as an avatar communication platform.
Tõke still believes in the dream of the metaverse and that NFTs are a way to bring players flexibility and mobility to their avatars.
He said: “We are making great progress and I am very happy with the equipment we are building.”
