Lunden Roberts, the mother of Hunter Biden’s son, Navy Joan Roberts, is supporting President Biden’s decision to issue a broad pardon for his son
“I think what Joe did is what any parent’s love would do and not everyone will understand,” Roberts said in a statement provided by his publisher, Skyhorse, to the DailyMail. “I would like to see more of that love for Navy Joan and I hope Biden takes the steps to become a grandfather to my daughter.”
Roberts went on to say that she believes Hunter was “driven by who his father is.”
“I don’t know what it’s like to be president, so I can’t say what decisions I’d make if I were in Biden’s shoes, but I’m a mom,” she said. “There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for my son. No barrier I wouldn’t break for Navy Joan.”

“A lot of people have done what he’s done and never gotten in trouble,” Roberts added. “But because his father is president, he’s subject to a different set of circumstances.”
Despite repeatedly stating that he would not pardon Hunter, President Biden reversed course and granted clemency to his son for all crimes against the United States that he committed or may have committed between January 1, 2014 and to December 1, 2024.
The general pardon therefore covers, but is not limited to, Hunter’s conviction on federal gun charges in Delaware and his guilty plea to federal tax charges in California. He was due to be sentenced in both cases this month.
Roberts wrote a book published in August titled “Out of the Shadows: My Life Inside the Wild World of Hunter Biden.”
The Arkansas native details how he met Hunter while in Washington, D.C., at school and while Hunter was at the height of his addiction to crack cocaine.

WHO ELSE COULD PARDON BIDEN AFTER HUNTER HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM SENTENCE?
She said she moved into the home after she became pregnant, and Hunter, who was already a father of three daughters ex-wife Kathleen Buhle by that time, he had moved away. Roberts gave birth to her daughter, Navy, in August 2018.
Hunter was also briefly involved with the widow of his late brother Beau Biden, and soon after married his current wife, Melissa Cohen Biden. The couple welcomed a son in March 2020 named Beau Biden Jr.
The White House Christmas stocking display has featured only six grandchildren for years, except for Navy. President Biden had refused to recognize Navy as his grandson until July 2023.

A court-ordered paternity test confirmed Hunter as Marina’s father in 2020. Earlier this year, Roberts agreed to reduce child support payments in exchange for Hunter trying to establish a relationship with his daughter.
Roberts said Hunter has spoken to his daughter over Zoom.
