Ruben Amorim insists he will “improve the squad” despite Manchester United suffering back-to-back Premier League defeats after losing 3-2 to Nottingham Forest
The defeat was the new United boss’s second in a row, and his first at Old Trafford, after early goals in both halves helped a spirited Forest side to victory.
Nikola Milenković scored in the first 90 seconds of the match, but Rasmus Hojlund equalized the score 15 minutes later.
Morgan Gibbs-White then struck less than two minutes into the second half before the in-form Chris Wood became Forest’s all-time leading goalscorer in the Premier League when he nodded in the third.
Bruno Fernandes pulled a goal back but, despite a late series of half-chances for the hosts, the visitors held on for their first win on United’s turf in 30 years.

Before the game, Amorim predicted a storm was coming, and on a day when schedules up and down the football pyramid were affected by Storm Darragh, the United manager’s premonitions came true.
“It’s not a surprise because we came in the middle of a lot of games,” Amorim told Sky Sports of the result.
“We already knew that. If you have a little football experience, you will understand those moments.”
The result comes just three days after United lost 2-0 to rivals Arsenal and just hours after the club’s minority owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, he called the club “mediocre” in an interview. published in the United We Stand fanzine.

And while Amorim understands the fans’ frustration after the defeat, he is confident he can turn things around at Old Trafford.
“It’s really disappointing for the fans,” Amorim added.
“It’s really hard to see games like this after so many times with disappointment.
“But we are here to do a job and we will continue in the same way, doing the same things. And we will improve the team.”
Next up for Manchester United is a visit to Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on Thursday before the Manchester derby on Sunday.
