Tomas Soucek dedicated his goal in West Ham’s crucial 2-1 win over Wolves to injured striker Michail Antonio after he was involved in a car accident.
Antonio continues to receive treatment in hospital following the incident on Saturday and the Jamaica international was paid tribute by players and fans at the London Stadium on Monday night.
The Czech midfielder opened the scoring against struggling Wolves, with Jarrod Bowen scoring the winner after Matt Doherty leveled the game.
After his header found the far corner in the 54th minute, Soucek honored his team-mate by celebrating, before Bowen held up a shirt bearing the 34-year-old’s name after scoring in the 72nd minute.

Soucek told Sky Sports: “The goal was for him. I dedicated it to him. I said before the game that I really want to achieve even more today. He’s been here since I came. He is really my favorite. I said it would be hard for me to play without him.
“I’m happy that he’s doing well, but this is for him. He is a great player and he is in my heart. It was really hard for us. I was with the children and I saw this information on the phone.
“I sent everyone a message asking what happened and how he was doing. I was so scared of what was going to happen. It was a really difficult week for him, his family and us.
“We had a video call with him, the whole team, before the game. He smiled at us and gave us his best. I can’t wait to visit him. He is a really lovely guy and funny too. He even joked before the game and wished us all the best.
“He is West Ham’s all-time top goalscorer. He is probably one of the best players West Ham have had. He will be with us soon. Things like that can happen, but we hope he gets better soon.”
On what his goal meant, Bowen said: “All.
“To share that moment, he’s not here with us, but I’m sure he (Michail Antonio) was watching and the fans, you heard them. A couple of emotional days.”
West Ham moved nine points clear of the relegation zone with the win and captain Bowen hopes he can spark a strong run of form ahead of the festive period.
He added: “That should help everyone. Now is the chance, December is probably the busiest period in our schedule all season.
There are a lot of games coming up and it’s the start of a run we can put together. We go to Bournemouth next week which will be a tough game but this could really get us going.”
