“We can be the good guys, or we can be the guys who save the world. We can’t be both.” Said Cecil to his group of new scholars Season 3 trailer for Invincible.
The official season trailer, released on Saturday, begins with the transformation of Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), AKA Invincible. In a surprising turn of events, we learn that Mark’s boss Cecil (Walton Goggins) has teamed up with the ruthless DA Sinclair — a sign that the rift between Mark and Cecil is about to come to a head. We see Mark struggling with his younger brother Oliver, who has grown up quickly from the child introduced in Season 2. We also see Invincible’s new black and blue suit, which Mark says, “feels great” — perhaps foreshadowing the new season’s tonal change, which will start on Feb. 6, 2025.
The Prime Video The show is based on the Invincible comic series written by Robert Kirkman. It’s full of epic fights, but it’s also a coming-of-age story. Mark is the son of real estate agent Debbie (Sandra Oh) and a superhero named Omni-Man (JK Simmons); After receiving his powers much later than expected and donning the mantle of Invincible, Mark must balance his new responsibilities with his desire to become an ordinary student. But he has to grow up quickly when he learns the truth about his father.
In a teaser trailer that was released last month, Mark and Cecil discuss the current situation with chibi-ified montages, and talk openly about the four-month hiatus between Season 2. The teaser trailer essentially says that Season 3 will not have a hiatus. medium; we expect a new episode to drop every week until the end of March 13th.
Phase 2 closed last April; if you haven’t caught on yet, there’s no time like the present. And if you’re new to Invincible, do yourself a favor and watch the first episode – it starts with Omni-Man defending the White House from the feuding Mauler Twins and ends with a big plot twist. Get ready for more blood and guts (memorably, the opening card of Season 1 gets more and more bloody as the show progresses). But there’s also plenty of heart, as well as interesting references to some of the more classic franchises (The Guardians of the Globe is an obscure spoof of DC’s Justice League).
Invincible has become has been renewed for a 4th season and may continue for season 4. The show does not follow the story of the 144 comics instead, instead it intertwines between plot points and sometimes covers multiple storylines at once. Kirkman, the game’s creator and one of the game’s writers and producers, said. they hope the show will continue until Season 7 or 8. This would be “enough to cover all the jokes” and include some things that didn’t make it into the original story.
Even if you’re bored, or weren’t a big fan of the original heroes, you’ll find a lot to love in Invincible. The more grounded story is emotional — superheroes can’t avoid the consequences of their powers — but it’s balanced with familiar humor. Only Omni-Man can attempt to explain what learning to fly is like “peeing your pants on purpose.”
